Step 1: check how long the rain lasts
Open the official JMA rain radar (link below). It shows precipitation nowcasts — if this is a passing shower, a covered arcade or a long lunch solves it. If it’s set in for the day, commit to an indoor plan.
Step 2: match your time to a plan

- Check today’s hours on the official site — not a map app. Last entry is often 30–60 minutes before closing.
- If it’s ticketed, book the slot first, then travel. Timed-entry venues (like Tokyo’s immersive art museums) can sell out on rainy weekends while you’re on the train.
